Windows into Wartime exhibition

State Records NSW recently launched its new exhibition, Windows into Wartime, at the Western Sydney Records Centre.  Windows into Wartime is the third in a series of exhibitions produced by State Records NSW for the Centenary of Anzac – 100 years since Australia’s involvement in the First World War. The exhibition engages with a series of historic images taken by NSW government photographers during the War that depict how communities at home mobilised in support of the war effort overseas. Combined with new research undertaken within and beyond the State archives, the exhibition sheds new insights—or ‘windows’—into NSW during the First World War.

Windows into Wartime is presented at the Western Sydney Records Centre from 17 October 2016 – 9 September 2017 and will tour to Broken Hill, Newcastle, Wagga Wagga, Armidale and Wollongong from November 2016 – November 2017. It will also feature on State Records NSW online and social media platforms.   For more information see Windows into Wartime.

New advice on cloud email implementation

We have recently released new advice on  Cloud email implementation: key considerations. The guideline identifies considerations specific and unique to cloud email, which need to be addressed prior to its implementation, including:

  • records and information management policies, procedures and processes
  • migration of email data from on-premise to cloud, and
  • contracts.

New State Records website

You will have noticed we have a new website and many of your bookmarks and favourites may no longer work but the content is still there.

Our web developers have been working on the index functionality for the public access side of the website, and unfortunately the search function is not working on the Government Recordkeeping pages. However, we are actively working on it and hope to provide a better way of searching for content very soon.
